Historical Path

A walk of about two hours on Mount Vully will take you back to the time of the First World War.

As you walk through vineyards, fields and forests you will discover the fortifications constructed for the defense of the Swiss central plateau. The best known of these are the so-called “Roches grises - La Lamberta”, extensive tunnels excavated in the sandstone. Numerous information boards explain the life of the soldiers at this period, the armaments of which they disposed and the strategic importance of Mount Vully.

The path also takes you to other historical sites such as the Agassiz Stone, a glacial erratic.

In addition to the historical explanations, the thematic walk offers spectacular views of Lake Murten and Lake Neuchâtel with distant views of the Alps and the Jura.
